Off The Plate
Off The Plate is a nine-sculpture collection that reimagines food beyond the table, lifting it from the dining surface and placing it onto the wall as art. Inspired by the oversized wall print of fried eggs that hung in my childhood dining room, I often wondered what it would feel like if the food itself became the decoration.
This body of work challenges the expectations of what a dining room “should” look like, inviting a playful shift in perspective. It embraces the idea that décor can be as imaginative and unconventional as we allow it to be — even transforming the meal itself into the centerpiece.
Each sculpture is crafted from found wood, painted in acrylic, and sealed in resin to create a rich, glossy finish reminiscent of freshly plated food.
